SAWYER'S

For a self- directed university project, I am currently in the midst of making an old western themed preproduction package, featuring character designs, environments, beat-boards and a finished animatic.

I am resurrecting and adapting a 1950's radio drama called 'Gunsmoke'.

I arrived at this style by taking inspiration from artists who utilise the element of simplified positive and negetive shapes such as Saul Bass and Robert Valley. I also set out to allude to the way faded out black and white film photos taken in the old west look.

The drawings are made with graphite and paper, then scanned and edited in photoshop. to create this faded, scorched quality.
